How are you doing people?Keyfa haalukum?ana bikhoir, kuwayyisa..alhamdulillah..Well, I was thinking to write in Arabic, but I don't really like to write Arabic in Latin letters..but I have no choice..Anyway..I love Arabic.. ehe.. walaupun harini rasa cam malas nakgi kelas arab kol 11 nanti..bkn apa sbb jalan terhincut-hincut lagi ni..uhukk.. Anyway, InsyaAllah, I'll be finisihing my 2nd semester of the first year Levantine Arabic this semester..Eventhough my Levantine Arabic is gonna be useless for me later on, but I do love to dig the differences between all of the Arabic dialects. aha..some people said to me, it's useless and that made me thinking that way too. Yup I know, Fus-hah which is the Standard Arabic is the most important Arabic that we have to know..to read the Quran, to understand their National online news on TV and so on..
As the language of Quran, the Holy book of Islam, it is thought as a first language in mostly Muslim states throughout the world..Arabic language originated in Saudi Arabia in pre-Islamic times, and spread rapidly across the Middle East. However, the classical written arabic has changed little over the centuries.
AND, as an International Language Learner, if you do not know any standard arabic, don't just jump into the study of any colloquial arabics. Trust me, it's really hard. And it's even getting harder it you know nothing about arabic. BUT, if you're originally from any arabic country, and you DO know, a lil bit of any dialect, go ahead, what ever arabic that you wanna learn. In any event, the great advantages of learning any colloquial arabics such as Egyptian Arabic and Levantine Arabic are, for the beginner~ you will appreciate this learning of general information about the Arabic culture, how to read colloquial Arabic, basic grammatical concepts of the Arabic language, and dialogue in the Egyptian dialect or Levantine dialect..
Ehe..pendek kata, korang akan belajar cara hidup hari2 depa cakap camne..keje skolah banyak on tape jer..recording stuff..that's all..but the hardest part for me is when you have to present in class..or having a personal interview with the Prof..even she's blind..but..oh no.. terribly a terriffic terror..it's not because of the Prof, she's really awesome!! but it's just me..
BUT, WHY? because Arab people like to stressing words while speaking, speaking like a helicopter..ehe..laju prapraprahraprap...haiyya..banyak fenin maa..ala..sama cam orang original melayu la kan..cakap pon cepat tuptaptuptap...ehe..kalau orang cam saya, ni,melayu mmg melayu, KELANTANESE lagi..tapi orang cakap laju ni tak paham maa..it's getting worst when i start behaving like "cat in the hat" ..that means..aha.. saya tgh takut+cuak+tatau nak buat apa+nak nangis+tolonnggg abahhh..so, don't speed up when you're talking to me.. in kelantanese, we say"jange dok gadduh gak" ~ don't be too hurry~ i think that's right..ehe..
As far as I learn those two arabics dialects (both Egyptian and Levantine), the nuance are..opss..maybe language regional difference are the Qof and the Jim..In Egyptian, they don't have that letters..they have those two written down..but when they say it..Qof becomes alif, and Jim becomes Gim.Gim is just for Egyptian..not for Levantine..For instances:

See the differences?ehe..best plak terang kat orang pasal ni..but they still keep the classical word such as Quran..they still keep it that way..no change for that..alhamdulillah..but if you notice those two words that i've written - both university and Qiblat..when it come into the dialect, they kind of shortened the words..especially the middle and the couple last letters.. ehe..cikgu arab saya cakap..depa pemalas sket..sbb nak cakap laju kan..betul gak tu..
To wrap up, go and learn arabic..if you get any chance..InsyaAllah, you can easily learn it. Fresh you mind, make a good intention.."I wanna learn arabic to learn and understand Al-Quran..to understand what I read in my Solat.." insyaAllah.. And for Malaysians, it's a great bonus for you because we, Malaysian..already have a good pronounciation of any arabic word..trust me..seriusly, you're gonna get into it, soon.
One true story.. tak abis lagi ke cik kak ooii..ehe..kisah benar benar ni..ehe..some of my arab friends, in my previous arabic classes, they told me that, if you're originally from one of the arab countries, and you wanna learn arabic..in their case, they are from Palastine, Surya, Kuwait and one..mm..Jordan, if i'm not mistaken..they told me, it's good for people like you Tinie to learn Fus-hah..it's easier for you than us..And then I was like.. hmm.. WHY? Because, you don't know arabic before, you did not grow up in Arab world or Arab culture..or you did not know any spoken arabic..things like that..this is a new thing for you and it's easy for you to catch things up and deeply go thru it without having problems like us. When we wanna learn Fus-hah, it's hard for us to get rid of our colloquial arabics. The accent itself sometimes makes us in trouble!!
Alhamdulillah..I think that's right..So, people! get a chance to learn Arabic..insyaAllah it will be a precious beneficial thing for you..Good Luck!!
